Achievements

Since I was first elected your Ward 5 Councillor in June 2024, we have accomplished a lot together. Here are highlights of what I am most proud of:​

Improved City Services

I was proud to vote in favour of enhanced snow removal, which started this past winter with the addition of windrow clearing and more than 900 kilometres of sidewalks.

 

I am pleased to hear the positive feedback from residents all across the Ward on the difference that sidewalk and windrow clearing has made.

Investing in Our Community

Delivering Division 31 

Ward 5 deserves its fair share, and with your support we are well on the way to delivering that. ​

​

I am delighted that we have been able to deliver on several once-in-a-generation projects that will improve life in our community for decades to come. These include:

​

  • The first new Peel Police division in more than 20 years, right here in Ward 5 - ​Open and operational immediately

​​

  • The completion of the Goreway Bridge​​​​

Investments in Community Spaces

It is also important that we keep investing in the facilities that residents and families use every day. Together, we have committed:

​

  • More than $3 million for the community centres in our ward: Malton & Frank McKechnie Community Centres.

  • Massive investment in public amenities, including $4.3 million for Paul Coffey Park, and $4.1 million for the conversion of the former Grand Highland Golf Course.

  • Support for local, neighbourhood parks, including:​ Albert McBride Park, Brandon Gate Park, Hawthorne Valley Trail, Derry Greenway Park, Elmcreek Creek, Ridgewood, Max Ward, Fairwinds Park & Phillipine Park 

Stormwater Investments

Our community has seen the impact of extreme weather in recent years, with devastating flooding damaging homes, businesses and properties.

 

I have fought for you on the city’s Stormwater Advisory Committee. Together, we have delivered:

Traffic Safety

I hear regularly that traffic safety is an increasingly large concern, and my own family and I experience it. We have made real investments to improve safety all across Ward 5, including:

 

  • Morningstar & Catalpha re-configurement for traffic calming

  • Eglinton & Tomken reconfigurement for traffic calming

  • Speed bumps and other traffic measures on Heritage Hills, Fairwind, Nahani Way, Barondale and Netherwood
